Basil’s Table: social economy leadership with Moira Were
February 23, 2022 @ 7:30 PM - 8:30 PM
Free – $10When you think of social economy leaders, particularly South Australian ones, it won’t take too long until Moira Were springs to mind.
Moira works across multiple organisations to develop the social and solidarity economy. Her approach always applies a ‘gender lens’ as she goes about building the common good. How does she manage to have such a huge impact in her home state of South Australia, and more broadly? We can learn a lot from Moira.
Come along to Basil’s Table to learn more …
Basil Varghese, a veteran Melbourne-based community builder will lead a dialogue with Moira, about how collaborative leadership can play a part in creating the kind of economy and community so many of us are striving for. You will learn about Moira’s work with Ethical Fields, Social Impact Investment Network South Australia, SheEO and the Chooks SA.
Who is Moira?
Moira has worked from the kitchen table as a direct service social worker through to the cabinet table as a Chief of Staff to a Minister. She has extensive strategic and operational experience in the not-for-profit sector and in government at state, regional, national & international levels.
